3rd Year

Next Thursday, January 19th (3rd A), or Friday, January 20th (3rd B), we’ll take our second exam.
What to study for the test
-          The five organs of perception and the five senses (e.g. “I see with my eyes”, “I hear with my ears”…)
-          The description of objects through the use of adjectives of quality (e.g. “the ice cream is cold and soft”, “the snowman is wet and cold”…)
-          The description of objects by using the structures “can” & “can’t” and naming the senses (e.g. “I can smell flowers”, “I can’t taste a guitar”…)
-          Names of things that begin with “ch-“ and “c-“ (e.g. chair, chess, chocolate…; cow, cat, car…)
All the activities in Unit 2 on the Multi-ROM can help us study for the exam.
Good luck!

-          Els cinc òrgans de percepció i els cinc verbs sensorials (e.g. “I see with my eyes”, “I hear with my ears”…)
-          La descripció d’objectes mitjançant l’ús d’adjectius qualitatius (e.g. “the ice cream is cold and soft”, “the snowman is wet and cold”…)
-          La descripció d’objectes utilitzant les estructures “can” & “can’t” i els verbs sensorials (e.g. “I can smell flowers”, “I can’t taste a guitar”…)
Bona sort!

All Years

The Christmas break is a time for reflection, family and friends, but we should also find the time to catch up on the school work we’re finding difficult, as well as get involved with many different activities in English to keep up our knowledge.
We’re sure we’ll know how to balance work and rest for the next two weeks.
Merry Christmas and see you next year!!!

Bon Nadal i ens veiem l’any que ve!!!

3rd Year

“What will I be when I grow up?” This is the title of the story that we read and tried to understood in class this afternoon. Our teacher chose it because she found a strong connection between the story and the topic on which we are working these days in our Science lessons: the economic sectors. Why don’t we read it again at home and tell it to our parents? That would be a good chance to develop our reading and speaking skills in English.
See you at school!

3rd Year

We do like our Christmas carol: “I saw three ships”. Its cheerful melody and its bouncy rhythm spread optimism, but we’re not sure to understand the meaning of its verses. What do the three ships represent? The three Wise Men? The Holy Family? Nevertheless, Bethlehem is an inland city and thus can’t have had three ships sailing into its port… Anyway, while we go on scratching our heads, we won’t stop singing the song with the utmost happiness!

Ens agrada moltíssim la nostra nadala: “I saw three ships”.

4th Year

Hi everybody!
This is the year when we’ll make a difference at our Christmas cantata. “Ding dong merrily on high” is a very difficult carol to sing because of its archaic words, its lively rhythm and an everlasting refrain that leaves you breathless. Yet, it’s time for us to take the challenge.
Most of us are taking great pains to learn the lyrics by heart, but if we had an easy song, then it wouldn’t be a challenge, would it?
See you around!

Hola a tothom!
Ens veiem!

6th Year

In year 6 we are about to complete the third unit of study (unit 2), so we are doing a bit of a recap in preparation for the test on the 12th of December. In class we make sure that everyone is aware of the vocabulary and grammatical structures that are being learnt, and we insist on the need for the students to become less and less dependent on adults to study and to get by in life. Students have to pay attention in class and develop their ability to learn autonomously, with the teacher guiding them and supporting them in this process. We have to work hard, but we also have fun along the way. Like with the Christmas Carol. This year we’ve transformed a popular song into a carol and most of us already know the lyrics very well. Here is a link to the original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daLxgKUad-c . Let’s see if we manage to learn the content of unit 2 as well as we have learnt the song!

2nd Year

This week we're taking home the lyrics of our Christmas Carol. We know them quite well, but it is a good idea to practise them at home without the help of the rest of the class. There are many different versions of this traditional carol, so the lyrics vary from one version to another but the music is the same. Here is a link to one of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DYtrw2mikA , but you can find many others yourselves.
